Almost Holden Collective (ahc) is a project started in 2007 by a group of USC and NYU arts students as a series of independent film projects experimenting in sound, design and video craft and, thanks to extensive years of travel and freelance projects, evolved into an international network of multimedia artists setting up DIY workspaces out of their apartments throughout New York City’s Lower East Side, Havana, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
In 2013, after years of designing no-budget studio spaces and strategies for DIY artists who only had what they had and wanted to create more, the collective opened their first physical space, Almost Holden Collection, (AHC) a versatile multi-media studio/gallery space located on Ocean Park (btwn 28th/29th) in Santa Monica, CA on the westside of Los Angeles. With it’s intimate Print, Audio, Video and Gallery components, AHC is designed for integrated collaboration between the traditional mediums to create multimedia art in a physical environment.
